What is Vector Database?

A database designed to store embeddings and quickly find the vectors most similar to a query.

Examples include Postgres with pgvector (for example on Supabase), Pinecone, Qdrant, Weaviate and Chroma. Most use approximate nearest-neighbor indexes such as HNSW.
